PADG Board of Directors

Calvin Daniels - PDGA #83811 - IntChair

Calvin is a journalist residing in Yorkton Saskatchewan

Disc golf is a recent passion, being introduced to the sport when covering the opening of the course in Yorkton. From there it was buying a cheap set of discs, and falling deeply in love with the game. Those three discs are long abandoned, replaced by a bright orange bag filled with discs. He is still adding discs too, much to the chagrin of his better half.

The passion grew to including helping design a number of areas courses, and to helping launch the PADG and this website.

Brenda Marshall-Wilson (McKay) -

Director - North Ridge

She is the Recreation Director for Prairie View Municipality, head-quartered in Birtle, Manitoba since 2011. Brenda was passionate about disc golf even before being bitten by the disc tick in the spring of 2016.  She grew up on a mixed farm, where she cleared virgin land by hand and machine with her family in Inglis, MB. near Riding Mountain National Park.  This taught her hard working ethics and more importantly, to persevere!  It is because of this quality; she has built the North Ridge Disc Golf Park with a handful of volunteers and in so doing, completed a most challenging and scenic course.

Chris Istace - PDGA #77840 - Vice Chair

Writer, singer/songwriter and entrepreneur Christopher was introduced to disc golf about a decade ago, but he jumped into the sport with both feet in 2014, making trips to Yorkton, SK due to a lack of facilities in his area. In 2015, he helped design and is now the director of the Rocanville Disc Golf Club located south of Rocanville, SK.. When not disc golfing, Christopher is hiking, fishing, paddling or camping; or, he's playing rock and country music with one of his two bands at a bar, dance, cabaret or theatre somewhere in Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

Doug Kerr - PDGA #83974 - Treasurer

Doug is a small business owner in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, operating the ServiceMaster Clean franchise since 2013.

Kerr has recently taken up the sport of disc golf, and within a year has become addicted to the sport’s most haunting allure.

The amount of new disc golf courses being proposed and completed in the parkland area is staggering and he wants to play a role in their development and promotion along side the other members of the disc golf community. That includes, taking on the role as treasurer with the fledgling Association, and representing Yorkton’s Patrick Park Discd Golf Course on the Board.

Trevor Lyons - PDGA #78876 - Tournaments Chair

Born and raised in Yorkton, Trevor is a computer tech by trade.  Trevor has one daughter, 15yr old Caitlin Lyons. After 7 years away from his home town, Trevor had an urge to come home.  He started working at Custom Microsystems in town.  Shortly after coming back to town, Trevor was introduced to the game of disc golf by his friend Calvin Daniels.  Calvin Daniels lent him three discs and told him that you will never need more than these.  Today, Trevor is up to about 50 discs, and is trying to surpass Calvin for the number of discs owned. Last winter, the PADG was formed, and Trevor took on the roll as Tournament Director.

Earlier this year, friends and avid disc golfers, Trevor, Calvin, and Doug Kerr started a weekly radio program called Chain Reaction on www.gametimeradio.ca.  They are doing disc reviews, course reviews, gives info on tournaments, and interviews.

Kim is the CAO for the Town of Bredenbury. I have worked for the town for 12 years and was born and raised on an acreage just outside of town. I went to school in Bredenbury. With any small town the Administrator wears many, many hats including being the contact for Disc Golf in Bredenbury, which is now located at the school grounds that closed down several years ago. I had never heard about Disc Golf until it was presented at a Council meeting, and it sounded interesting. I can’t wait to learn more about the game.
