Fun event added to tournaments

Disc golfers attending Parkland Association of Disc Golf tournaments this summer will have a chance for some additional fun, if they have a bit of luck to have their name drawn.

Fountain Tire in Yorkton will be partnering with the PADG to sponsor a ‘tire putt’ at tournaments.

So what is a ‘tire putt’?

Think of a carnival game-of-chance, with a disc golf putter and a tire.

At each tournament there will be a random drawing from among tournament entrants, and one lucky player will have a chance to putt through a tire target for a great prize.

The player will have three chances, the first shot will be from 20-metres, and if they make a putt through a tire they will have won a voucher towards the purchase of tires at Fountain Tires in Yorkton.

Miss and you move closer for a second shot from 15-metres also for a voucher, and if that too is a miss they will have one final shot from 10-metres.

“It was such a fun idea, and a great way for us to get involved with the growth of disc golf,” said Heith Allan, manager at Fountain Tire.

Calvin Daniels, president of the PADG said fun was exactly what they wanted to add to summer tournaments.

“It’s always great that there are added elements to tournaments where everyone has a chance, and the idea of tossing a putter disc through a tire came up, and Fountain Tire jumped on board, so it all came together rather nicely,” he said.
